Our Team

Meet Our Village

Mill Village Farms is part of Mill Village Ministries; meet the whole team here.

Dan Weidenbenner, Executive Director Mill Village Ministries

Dan moved to Greenville in 2007 via Furman University where he studied Psychology. After growing up in South Florida, he is proud to now call Greenville home. Dan launched Mill Village Farms in 2012 and serves as the Executive Director of Mill Village Farms and the parent organization, Mill Village Ministries. Dan is a resident of the Greater Sullivan community where he is an active member of the Long Branch Baptist Church. He also serves on boards for New Horizons Family Health Services, CommunityWorks, Habitat for Humanity, and Greenville Housing Fund. Dan is passionate about youth and community development while enjoying his weekends exploring unfamiliar places. He and his wife Jenny are the proud parents of two daughters!

Frances Schueren, Farm Education Manager

Frances joined the Mill Village team after graduating from Clemson University with a B.S. in Food Science in 2022. After riding her bike across the country to raise money and awareness for affordable housing in 2019, she began volunteering with Village Wrench, and has made her way through each of our youth programs since then. She is passionate about positive youth development and loves to connect that with food in Mill Village Farms’ programming. Outside of work, Frances is pretty much guaranteed to be cooking, climbing, or biking.

Rachel Packard, Farm Consultant

Diving into the world of business operations and gaining a better understanding of her role as a consumer, Rachel instantly became eager to learn about one of the most important businesses of all -- the agriculture and food business! With a desire to rebuild her relationship with food, Rachel has learned how living in a healthy body is directly correlated to living in a healthy earth. Farming has taught her that growing food is more than just the benefit and enjoyment of food. With a love for nature, nutrition and community, Rachel has found herself right at home guiding regenerative agricultural practice for Mill Village Farms. When she isn’t working, she is wildcrafting, in the kitchen, or spending time with her family.

Youth Apprentices

Every summer, Spoons & Sprouts teen program graduates are hired to work on the farm. It is often their first job, and we train them in the hard skills of gardening and the soft skills of job responsibility and customer service through produce sales. A few continue to work through the school year and help coach the incoming Spoons and Sprouts students!

Niyi Adereti, FoodShare Program Manager

Niyi moved to Greenville in 2021 and is thankful to be part of the Mill Village Team helping people in the community have access to healthy fresh produce at affordable rates. He believes that every human deserves the opportunity to experience kindness, dignity and respect.

He was born and raised in Lagos Nigeria, where he completed his Bachelors in Management Technology with a major in Project Management. He moved to the United Kingdom to study for his Masters in Digital Media, where he worked as a web/graphic designer. He later moved to California where he graduated from three years of Ministry School and worked as a Minister, leading a ministry team and engaging with people in crisis situations who needed emotional, financial and spiritual support.

He spends his days enjoying his wife's cooking, keeping up with his boys, researching random ideas and serving in his local church.
