Dan Weidenbenner, Executive Director

Dan moved to Greenville in 2007 via Furman University where he studied Psychology. After growing up in South Florida, he is proud to now call Greenville home. Dan launched Mill Village Farms in 2012 and serves as the executive director of Mill Village Farms and the parent organization, Mill Community Ministries.  Dan is a resident of the Greater Sullivan community where he is an active member of the Long Branch Baptist Church. He also serves on boards for New Horizons Family Health Services, JustFaith Ministries, American Cancer Society, and Habitat for Humanity Greenville County. Dan is passionate about youth and community development while enjoying his weekends playing tennis and exploring unfamiliar places. Contact Dan at dan@millcommunity.org.

Megan Baxter, Farm Director

Megan moved to Greenville in 2015 from Vermont where she managed a 40 acre organic small fruit, vegetable, cut flower and bedding plant operation. Through 15 years of hands-on experience Megan became an expert in farm management, sustainable production and post-harvest handling processes. She believes deeply in the importance of good, local food and it’s connection to healthy living. Megan loves teaching and loves sharing her knowledge with youth at Mill Village Farms. Megan oversees Mill Village Farms’ multiple operations and works to establish lasting systems of productive growth. Megan lives in Travelers Rest where she enjoys tending her own small garden. She is passionate about health and wellness and also teaches fitness classes in Greenville. Megan loves exploring everything Greenville has to offer, especially its wonderful food scene and beautiful parks. Contact Megan at Megan@millcommunity.org

Erica Johnson, Market Director

Erica was born in Norwalk, CT but spent most of her childhood in Columbia, SC. She is a 2007 graduate of Furman University and has been a Greenville resident since that time. At Furman, she was a coordinator and participant in the Legacies peer mentoring program where her passion grew for cultivating and growing positive life habits in the lives of others. With an undergraduate degree and master's focused in health and exercise science and public relations respectively; community health has become a part of her life's mission. Erica serves as the market manager where she continues to educate and promote healthy living among community members and the youth entrepreneurs. Contact Erica at erica@millcommunity.org.

 

Taylor Beard, Youth Entrepreneurship Director

Taylor came to Greenville from Columbia through Furman University where she studied Political Science. She has a passion for youth and using entrepreneurship as a means to change lives. Taylor directs Nasha Lending, our sister organization that provides no-interest micro-loans and business training to under-resourced youth and adult entrepreneurs. In her spare time she enjoys coaching Greer Middle College Girls Soccer team and training for her next marathon! Taylor directs and leads our training and entrepreneur programs for our Youth Crew Members! Contact Taylor at taylor@millcommunity.org.

Sherry Taylor, Operations Director

Sherry is a native Greenvillian and has also lived in Seattle and Atlanta.  She and her husband Jeff returned to Greenville in 1998 knowing Greenville was a great place to raise their daughters - Lauren and Samantha.  She enjoys being involved in her community and loves interacting with people so helping volunteers find the right place to get engaged makes Sherry a natural fit as Mill Village Farms' Volunteer Coordinator.  Sherry is a ’87 Furman Grad with a major in Business Admin.  In her role at Mill Village Farms and Mill Community Ministries, she draws on experience gained while working at Grace Church, Turner Broadcasting, and for her hubby Jeff when he owned a Chick-fil-A.  Contact Sherry at sherry@millcommunity.org.

 

Stella Huey, Youth Programs Director

Stella is a Greenville native and graduated from Wade Hampton High School. Following, she attend Clemson University where she pursued her interest in conservation by completing a degree in Environmental and Natural Resources in 2016. She has since moved back to Greenville to serve as an AmeriCorps Upstate Member with Mill Village Farms.
