Job Description

Crew Leaders will lead a group of 6-8 students, ages 13-18, through their summer at Mill Village Farms. Student crew members are hired to work Monday-Friday from 8-2pm on our farms. Crew Leaders are responsible for mentoring each student in their crew through their first job experience. This includes: showing up before students arrive, staying until all students have been picked up, tracking students personal days and work ethic, providing feedback & coaching, sending reminders of schedule changes, and motivating students throughout the summer. Crew Leaders will assist Program Director in facilitating development activities, field trips, & orientations for all youth.


Applicants must have prior experience working with teenagers, interest in community service and multicultural team building. Key attributes include the ability to motivate a group of young adults, while fostering their potential and working at least 20 hours a week alongside our students on the farm. The crew leader must be open to one’s own personal growth and the capability to uphold the standards of the community. We are looking for someone who enjoys working on a team, while is independent, dependable, organized, flexible, and has a sense of humor. At least one year of college is preferred. 


The Crew Leader is expected to work Monday-Friday from May 29th to August 18th. Hours are approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The Crew Leader is also expected to attend and help lead the Summer Youth Orientation on June 1st and 2nd. In addition to the normal work hours with teens, there will be staff meetings once a week and occasional after work activities with students (i.e. camping trip, career tours, pool days, bowling, ect).

Paid compensation will be discussed.
